I think the most powerful portraits are those where the artist had a personal connection to the subject. Rembrandt's Herman Doomer, Valesquez's Juan Prado and Bouguereau's Gabrielle Cot immediately come to mind.

I think this holds true here as well. One of your best. Mazel Tov.
