Were you able to get her to sit at all or is she at that age when every moment she spends with you is an ENORMOUS favor.

I thought it would be another lovely one like the one you did of your son - duh, I didn't know girls could have Bat Mitzvahs!

So what a wonderful surprise opening this to find such a beautiful girl and a painting that does her justice! Beautiful, and I especially love her lips!

I think the most powerful portraits are those where the artist had a personal connection to the subject. Rembrandt's Herman Doomer, Valesquez's Juan Prado and Bouguereau's Gabrielle Cot immediately come to mind.
