- I'm an amateur painter who graduated with a fine arts degree in the mid -seventies. I've recently return to painting after a several decades break spent earning a living. I began portrait painting in October 2004 with a goal of doing 25 portraits within a year to learn the craft. If I can get my skill set up to an acceptable level, I plan to do the occasional portrait to supplement my retirement income in 4 years.
