Small Space Storage
First I am sorry if this is repetitious, but I am in desperate need of suggestions.
My studio is really starting to look like a flea market because of lack of storage, especially for WIP's.
I am dealing with oils, pastels and inks.
I really do not have room for those wonderful flat drawers or shelves, actually there is not room for the slotted stand up ones either.
I have been using a drop leaf table with two long pieces of plexi-glass to keep my ink papers and the Wips, but it doesn't work for the other things.
I have pastels taped to hung frames and oils leaning on the steps and book shelves even though I have three easels up now.
Thank you ahead of time,
Beth
Oops, I should mention that construction is out of the question at this time.

Beth, check out the Gallery System http://www.gallerysystem.com or this place http://www.arts-supplies.net .
Both offer an easy to install rail system from which you can hang wires with move-able picture frame hooks. This way all you have to do is attach a wire to the back of the WIP and you can hang it from your studio wall.
If you contact them you can request samples before ordering.

wall storage made easy
I know this is a late post, but I've recently been relocated AGAIN!! to Honolulu. I've had to learn to live in a much smaller space, and got some good tips from my daughter, who lives in San Fransisco.
I ordered several items from Ikea, from the kitchen Department for my studio set up . I was able to get creative in my studio using the items in this link.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/ca...kitchen/10485/
Or just select Kitchen Accessories , Rails and Wall storage at www.ikea.com
Items can be mail ordered and are inexpensive. What I liked best, was that I could start with a few items then add to the system for a complete organization wall without going over board.

Good luck with your search, Beth. I'm deleting photo of the messy storage I use, and hope you find a solution. One thing to keep in mind is that you might have a high school shop class that would be willing to build storage to your specifications, for the cost of the lumber. I hope to do that this year.

what about simple shelves along the walls, and you can line up your art on them?
