Sisters MK & Meg




This is almost done - so I thought I'd post for critique. I have yet to work on the hair.

The colors are accurate, but everything is just slightly blurry. I'm researching new cameras and intend to purchase one with the proceeds of this commission.

Also - I opted to leave out the flowers that you see on the reference photo.

This is a luscious portrait. I agree with your decision to simplify the background given all the complex angles throughout.

The softeness is lovely. I think a few, well-placed hard edges near the faces (small sections of hair?) would pull the girls into focus, provide variety of texture, and enhance the painting.

Great job on foreshortening!

Jeanine - thanks so much for your nice compliments.

The finished painting is posted in the unveilings section - and I think the close-ups are in slightly better focus. There really are a lot more edge variations than you can see in these close-ups. My camera blurred everything.
