Report on summer course Florence Academy
As some of you know I went to Florence this summer to follow a course in portraiture techniques at the Florence Academy of Art. I wanted to share with you my experiences. The course is four weeks during the month of July. I arrived with my husband a few days before. We had arranged a home exchange with an Italian writer who would stay in our house in the Netherlands for a month, but two weeks before we had to leave he told me the deal was of because he had a job offering he couldn't refuse. What to do!!? We tried to rent but the rent was just too much for our budget, in July the rents in Florence go sky high! So we decided to take our caravan and stay on the campsite, which is located beautifully on a hill, near the Arno River with a spectacular view of the city. It was a good choice, within walking distance of the location where my lessons were and close to the centre of town. The campsite is very clean, management very friendly. They were a bit surprised that we wanted to stay four weeks, because normally four days is long! We were even photographed for the new brochure! (See photo). My husband came to; he is an independent webdevelopper and was working on his own project.
