That's great, I also feel I should'nt have to wish you luck. But I will anyway, just in case one of the judges is cookoo.
You should post this under member news, I got a ton-o-encouragement when my news was posted there. Just a thought.

Garth, this is a commissioned portrait, right? Will you have to borrow it back from the client to ship it to D.C?

Dear Kim, Jimmie, Michele, and Linda,
Thanks so much! I'l take it as a compliment that you think I need no more wishes of luck, although I am sure I do.
Michele, yes, this is a commission. I have informed my agent, Jane Runyeon of All Together Art, Inc. of the good news. This portrait is of her mother, also known as Jane. I think my agent will successfully persuade for the loan of this portrait, as it makes her business look prominent too. Wish me luck!
Can't wait to see everyone in D.C.
Garth

Garth, this is a wonderful painting! Besides the wonderful color scheme and the warmth and sensitivity this painting conveys, you were able to masterly distinguish the different textures of her clothing. The scarf truly reads like silk and the coat and skirt as different, slightly heavier materials. Just beautiful!
I too like to wish you the best at the PSOA competition.

Garth,
Just saw this painting today even if it was first posted last summer. (I've missed a lot having joined only last Sep). Congratulations on this very beautiful piece. I've gone through all the posts in this thread and I echo all the sentiments of everyone else.
I wish you all the luck in the competition in May (wish I could go...a bit far for me)...not that you need it, but like someone said just in case the some of the judges don't have good criteria.
