A stunning, breathtaking painting to study-and I hope to see more of you here on the forum. You, obviously have allot to share, which we students can absorb!

Bart,

Beautiful, just beautiful, I think everybody else has used up the compliments.

I am a fabric junkie myself. I have stopped people in fabric stores and have them stand against pieces of fabric to see if they will work.

Welcome to the Forum, it is quite a coffee klatch.

Sharon dear,

Imagine stopping people and holding up fabrics if you're a guy.

That's why I take Sandra with me wherever I go!

Bart,
I am no painter, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating this painting very much. I keep coming back to have another look at it - so lovely!

Bill,

I would imagine the security guards would be alerted. I must say that visual started my day with a loud guffaw. Thanks.

I also love this painting and I hope we are prodding you into logging onto the Forum, Bart. I'm another big fan of yours and I'm always so impressed by the way you handle both indoor and outdoor portraits with such grace, atmosphere and style.

Just Beautiful, Bart!

What a treat to come back from vacation and find this wonderfully exciting portrait posted on the forum! I'm probably too late to say anything original, but the richness of the colors and the way the patterns play with and against each other in terms of colors, size, and degree of soft/hard edges are fascinating. To me, the hair is the only element in the composition that reads as background, and I am thinking that it is successful in drawing the viewer's attention to the face. I think it was Chris who pointed out that the woman's expression of repose is such an intriquing contrast to the colors around her. In fact it creates almost a feeing of unease, as if you are painting impending movement or change.

Alex
