Dear Pat,

In my experience if you only have that dark photo to work from don't try to lighten it because the shadows define the shapes. If you change the shadows the shapes change too. besides I like that photo.

Thanks Rochelle. I agree about that now. I have come to realize that one of my problems was just that. It seems that I have trouble trying to change things from photo to paint.

I think I should get a good photo to begin with. Thanks for the info.
