Mike,
You might wonder if these images illicit emotions from the viewer? Well, I just found out this weekend that in January I will be a grandmother for the first time and it is a girl!! When these little redheaded images popped up my eyes welled!! They are beautiful photographs and I think No 2 would make a very beautiful painting.

I look forward to viewing your painting!! Thank you for making my day!

Mike,

The one holding a Teddy Bear (the close-up profile) is exquisite, one of the best children's shots, I have ever seen. Beautiful, but not cloying and icky, like so many of the usual ones you see.

You must have parents screaming for these.

Mike, I didn't make myself clear about the "rejects". Of all these pictures, if I to choose one it would be difficult because there are so many good ones. Your photos that are not chosen would make any parent delighted, after you weeded out the "true rejects". As a grandma and parent, I would kill for photos like these.

Your close up is amazing, I want a new camera now. I can only get close to that quality with 50 ISO, good light, and the highest resolution.

I want to see this painting evolve.

Jean

Patricia,

And so, the dreaded grandparent notice. I haven't had the honor of that just yet. These little carrot headed, blue eyed girls are something special. As I look at your mug shot I can see that you might project a similar aura.

Sharon,

To my eye, I think the one you mention is the best. There is a certain simplicity of design, and charm about it. If I attempt this painting I think I would reverse the bear, as I have done below. And thank you for that wonderful compliment.

I do have the gift of making people scream. Parents, children, and especially the many, many ex-wives which populate this great land of ours. Actually only two, but they are particularly gifted screamers. Once again I am reminded of the perfectly composed image below.

Jean,

This Nikon D70 (and more accurately the larger pixel chip which seems to only come with the digital SLR's) is a low light machine.

I have always pressed these circumstances to their limit and I find that I now have another 30-40% to explore.
