If he were alive he'd die happy. His family will be thrilled! It looks wonderful. Leave it alone and take a well deserved walk in the woods.

Well designed, these are tough to do and come up with an interesting arrangement which Beth Schott has pointed out.

Another beautiful portrait! Like already mentioned - I too would like to see the flags a bit duller to set them back more.

I kinda had the feeling the reds weren't as zingy in the original. The state flag was really the only thing I felt was detracting, being that the red was in such bold contrast to the navy. But, I understand that you sowthat beforehand, and took steps to correct it. Bravo on a great piece!

And --- it's great that this one breaks from the mold with regard to the ubiquitous judge's black robes. I'm sure that even Van Dyck got tired of those Genoese Senators all in black.
