$500 or 15% of the gross, whichever is greater. If I earn more than $3,300 in a month, I pay 15% of it. $500 minimum.

I am getting emailed responses to this post. I think it is OK to respond to the drawings, but not to the day in the life of a CPA (certified public artist).

Jean, you asked, "What happens when you have more time to spend on a drawing?"

The fact is, I never have more time to spen on drawings, since most of my subjects are children who can hardly sit for ten or twenty minutes, or adults who are not models and brely have any more patience than children.

It would be nice to have more time once in a while, but that is not where my customers are. Also, I would have to charge so much for those drawings in order for them to be of equal value to my quick sketches in the same time slot. Unfortunately, price and time considerations are important in a business. My drawing time, when busy, is worth a certain dollar amount.
