Update
I just got a new portrait in this week. It sold for $2,000. That is in keeping with my price increases. The client has no problem with money and I think I will have less portraits, but a more financially secure clientele.
This portrait is directly a result of a referral from the gallery where my figurative work is shown.
Perhaps the economy is on the upswing, after all.

Dear Renee,
Congratulations! I would bet that you not only will maintain your volume, but that you have more commissions than in the past!
Although I did not have a single new business call between September 11 and December 1, I have a happy rash of new business over the past two months...and hope it will continue.
Best Wishes, Chris

Congratulations all of you on your recent commissions! Glad to see my original fears didn't come to pass. I, too, am happy to report my schedule is full again. Guess I won't quit my day job after all.
