Hello from Tennessee

Hello, I am very happy to be here. This is a splendid forum, and I look forward to many hours of reading.

I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my husband. I am a freelance editor, although I am trying to get rid of all my editing jobs so I can paint full-time. I have painted portraits in watercolor and drawn in graphite in years gone by. I began to study oil painting last year, and I have been thrilled to discover what a wonderful medium this is. Attached is a 12x16 self-portrait.

I have only one problem with this forum so far, but it's a pretty big one. I can't see any of the attached paintings! I can see the little paper clip that indicates an attachment, but when I open the post, there is no painting to be seen. Does anyone have any idea why I can't see the images? Thanks so much.

Hi Jan, and welcome! Your self portrait is unique and lovely!

You are missing half the fun if you're not able to see images... You might try going into 'Your Controls' (there should be a link near the top left of most forum screens); then 'Edit Options' (on the Control Panel, again near the top, at the left under 'Settings and Options'); then scroll down to 'Topic Display Options' and make sure that you have it checked to 'Show Images'. Hopefully, you've just got your controls set to not show them and it's as simple as checking that box to fix!

I checked my controls, but unfortunately that simple fix does not take care of it. I have sent an email to the moderators and maybe someone will be able to look at my account and see if something is wrong with it.

Have you tried just reloading the page? What browser are you using?

Cindy, I've disabled all my virus scan and firewall stuff and now I can see the images (yay!). So I just need to figure out how to add this forum to my "acceptable" list so I can get my security back.
