Enzie, as always I am so impressed with the way you render detail. I love her expression, too, and the contrast between her soft hair and skin and the glittering metal jewelry. I feel that this rather monochromatic approach turned out successfully for you.

Can you post some closeups?

This is impressive, Enzie - to echo Alex, this is amazingly detailed. You've caught a wonderful expression on her face as well.

Dear Alexandra and Linda,

It means so much to me that you like the painting. It was a labor of love...

Here are some close-ups. The link above will take you to my Flicker account where there is a super large image that can be zoomed in.

Very nicely rendered, Enzie. There is such a good clarity of light to the painting, and to the face especially. And really beautifully detailed rendition of the jewellery - you show so much respect for the craftsmanship of the jewelry itself, and your own dedicated crafting of the painting echoes that very well indeed! And even with all the detail in the jewelry, you have still kept the face the focal point. Great work!

I don't know how I missed this one, Enzie.
Like Thomasin, I find that you managed beautifully to keep the focal point on the face, and it was cetainely not an easy task.
The very high contrasts particularly fit your outstanding subject.
Nice work!

This is very haunting, Enzie. Even with all the jewelry, my eyes go directly to her focused stare, that cuts right through to my heart.

Thank you all so much for your kind words! I am very honored that my work is appealing to such accomplished artists as you all are. I am sorry I am so late with my reply, but I am in Europe and just now got some time to do some web surfing. It's been a bit crazy!
