"Hard Luck"

Recently a client of mine had me fill out several release forms for my paintings. A new Mario Van Peebles movie, mentioned above, was to be shot partially in her home. My painting "Red Dakini" was to figure prominently in the background.

She just called me to tell me how the shots went. It turns as it was supposed to be a rich drug dealers house and they decided to remove some of the paintings and replace them with gaudier and more tasteless paintings. Mine made the cut and is hanging next to a huge hideous painting of Maria Callas.

Wow, so does that means it's definite that your painting will show in the movie? That's pretty darn cool. Maria Callas, the opera singer? Don't drug dealers have huge paintings of Al Pacino in "Scarface"?

Any details of when the movie will be released, or is it still in the filming stage? Theatres or DVD? Am I asking too many questions?

I don't know as yet, they filmed in that area.

My husband, the eternal optimist, says that scene, is the one they will probably cut.

They are still filming.

Yes Tom,

I weep! I had visions of the rich and famous glitterati flocking to my door after seeing my piece in a stunning collection. However I learned that most of her lovely collection was replaced by most the horrible dreck imaginable. I thought it was too funny that mine made the cut.

Also staying is a large lovely marble nude done by a friend of mine.

This will be an art collection to remember folks! Stay tuned!

Let us know how it turns out, Sharon. It would be cool if your painting were in the film, even if it is keeping bad company! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
