Another portrait of Janice
Size of the figure is about 15x12.

I should point out that the hand is actually a little better than what you see. I just realized that my multiple images didn't come together perfectly in PhotoShop. Janice's hand and the frame of her glasses got chopped a little.

Very nice. I especially like the lines of the limbs and lower hand. I think the hand near the face is coming along fine too; much better proportions than before.
You might want to watch out for a bit of over modeling in the nose/mouth/chin area, but otherwise it seems to be coming along fine!

Did I overdo it? I wanted to emphasize the face by giving it a full range of values, more detail, and more light than the rest of the figure.
At one point, I stopped and scanned the image, but the face on my monitor looked too indistinct, so I sharpened everything.

One portrait convention that a lot of artists use is to emphasize eyes and mouth and de-emphasise other features like noses, nasal-labial folds etc. I think it's a matter of personal preference.

Jeff,
Seems like this is so well thought out and well executed thus far. I am enjoying watching the progression.....
