Katie gets a facial

I just wanted to update an oil that I posted a few weeks ago. I have made a few jumps and skips with my skin tones, so I sanded the canvas and reworked this portrait.

Since she did sit for over 20 hours, I felt I owed her something more than just my learning experience. I made a few subtle compostion changes too.

I'll have to give it a go after my workshops too!

Here is the new one:

I was teasing her mom about the degree of difficulty in drawing her nose, she of course blames her husband! Her nostrils are almost like rams horns and the bridge has been broken two times.

She has massive shoulders from being a member of our rowing team in Cincinnati for 5 years. I am not sure if we were correct in choosing this rounded pose or not.

Here is the close up:

Hopefully to give a little appreciation to the technician at the local spa who administered the recent facial I am providing the before reference.

Hi Beth,

This is wonderful! I'm sure I'm not the only one on this board that thinks you've made terrific strides in the few months that you've been posting your work on the Forum. Your hard work and determination really comes out in your paintings. Congratulations on such a strong piece.

Best wishes,
Linda
