One Hundredth

This dog in this painting is a gift for appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Nielson, for their extraordinary kindness, of course, their hearts of gold are invaluable, I wish my free dog could worth one per cent of they did for me:

Nice portrait of two blondes!

Seriously, the dog in your portrait has that quality of "essential dogness" . Makes me want to reach out and pat it.

Julie:
Thanks! I'd like to see your wonderful work.

I painted a dog from life, just like to make a sketch from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXfcwdFzpo8
see how masterful Sargent is:

My favorite Sargent book: http://www.amazon.com/review/product...owViewpoints=1

Dog:Girl = 2:1

This is $432,000 dog: http://www.jssgallery.org/Paintings/Pointy.htm

The funny thing is that it is exactly one half of $432,000: http://jssgallery.org/Paintings/Mugs...Derenburg.html

Marcos Blahove recommented Sorrolla to me long time ago, now I need to study him more.

"Behold the sower went forth to sow. 4 And whilst he soweth some fell by the way side, and the birds of the air came and ate them up. 5 And other some fell upon stony ground, where they had not much earth: and they sprung up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth. 6 And when the sun was up they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away. 7 And others fell among thorns: and the thorns grew up and choked them. 8 And others fell upon good ground: and they brought forth fruit, some an hundred fold, some sixty fold, and some thirty fold."

SB, both of these portraits are so beautifully painted! I admire the way you keep the values light without sacrificing the illusion of space. There s a veracity about these--they are full of life, not frozen into a pose.
