Oh Thomasin, I was so glad for you when I read this news and can I tell you all that this painting was hanging for a while in my house and I really had the opportunity to enjoy it and learn from it.
The texture the colours, the light, the emotional intensity are at a such a high pitch here, this work deserves every honour

It is 16" x 20", oil on canvas.
Thomasin, Congratulations on your exquisite originality!

Congratulations and kudos to everyone else on the finalist listings too. Thanks, Cynthia, for the mention!

Artist's Magazine gave me Three(!!!) finalist awards this year, in the Portrait and Figure category. They are each perhaps rather all too familiar here on the Forum:

Jane and Iona

Arianna and Taylor

and, Apotheoun

I wish the Magazine would include pictures too, of each Finalist's works.

Twelve selected winning works are to be seen in the Artist's Magazine
2008 Limited Edition Calendar.

John Ennis has the month long spread for April. Congratulations John!

I have the month of August, represented with, . . . you guessed it, Apotheoun !

Incidentally, Arianna and Taylor, and Apotheoun are also on display currently in the group show "Portraiture: A Philadelphia Tradition ".

Thanks, Garth. Always good to hear from you. Congratulations on your August exposure. 2008 should definitely be one of the better years for the Artist's Magazine.
