I like the mysterious feeling created by the design and gesture.
Congratulations!

Enzie,
I'm so impresed with your composition. In general I've been noticing your compositions getting better and better--well thought-out, nicely balanced, increasingly unusual-but this one is really powerful. The horiontal format, her placement on it, slightly off-center, with her head and headdress balancing her elbow at the bottom all point to an intuitive sense of design. I'm also impressed by the modeing of her figure and features, and the thought you put into the details.

Dear Marina and Alexandra,
Thank you both for your nice comments and observations. I am so happy to hear that the composition is working. Because of the photo reference (true profile head shot) I had to make her focus on something. I figured by making her hold something delicate, I'll establish a balance to the heavy head. Furthermore by introducing a circular compositon, the focus of her gaze forces the viewer's eye to travel from the head to the bottle back to the headdress, down the arm and back up to the bottle again.
The golden headdress, the armband and the bottle are all points of interest within the picture that form an upside down triangle within the circumference of the figure.
