Deladier Almeida Juried Member Joined: Nov 2002 Location: Davis, CA Posts: 144	Peter Vandenberge, 30" x 36" oil on linen This is the portrait of the sculptor Peter Vandenberge. He is Dutch, born in the island of Java, hence the background. The face and figure were painted from life in 7 sittings of about 2 hours each. The shirt and background were painted between sittings. I used elements of a Javanese batik to compose the background. Peter is grand grand grand...grandson of the Dutch painter Jan Steen.
