Thank you, Marvin. Your compliments mean a lot to me. I would not be successful without the years I spent under your tutelage. Granted, I have added a few whatnots of my own over the years (for good or ill), but they would remain whatnots were it not for the solid foundation you gave me.

Sharon, I like your description of getting the portrait to live on the canvas: "vibrating." Thanks for that! I'm relieved that this came out well for the sake of everyone, considering I did it in front of my class. I actually like painting with people around. Not for the sake of showing off - many were the times I've painted badly in a group - it's just that the creative energy is palpable for me in a group setting. I guess that's why teaching is so fun for me!
