Rosario

'Rosario' was awarded a First Honorable Mention today in a local juried show. She was one of seventy-nine entries excepted. She is hanging in the Fall Show of the Dunwoody Fine Arts Association.

This is a pastel of my father's mother, Rosario. She was born and raised in Key West, Florida. This photo was taken in 1924. I saw the artist in her and really tried to capture that. The edges would have been lost but Key West is so bold and vivid in colors and there is such ablue, blue skys, there just wasn't any reason to lose it. My father loves this portrait and to me, that is what really counted.
