A non portrait

The Cafe' section can be used for all sorts of different things. It is a place where we can discuss the art world, jokes, or just chit-chat about art in general. Cynthia suggested that it would also be a good place to display a non-portrait painting. I know that the many great artists here don't only paint portraits. I'd like to see some of the other paintings. Paintings that are important to them. Paintings that got them past something or helped them solve a problem.

I'm posting a painting I did two years ago shorly after my cousin Hal died of a brain tumor at the age of 14. This image depicts my family standing over where he is buried. I only painted in what I felt was important. I feel the spirit of that day when I look at this painting.
