Announcement: Art Renewal Center Student Scholarship Competition

From: Lillian Wilson, Executive Assistant to Fred Ross, Chairman ([email protected])
The Art Renewal Center www.ArtRenewal.org/
The Art Renewal Center, is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit educational organization dedicated to supporting students of fine art, and to providing a venue for research into visual art history. The ARC wishes to recognize the artists of today as well as the Masters of realism throughout history. We believe that in order to support the re-emerging recognition of classical realism in our contemporary society, it is vital that we recognize the needs of those who will ultimately carry the torch of humanist art into the 21st century and beyond. The ARC, therefore, is pleased to announce its first student scholarship competition. We will be awarding three scholarships in the amount of $2,500 US each, and four scholarships in the amount of $1,000 US each to outstanding students of painting, drawing, and sculpture who are training in the academic tradition.
Specific scholarship guidelines and an easily downloadable application form is available on the ARC website www.artrenewal.org/articles/Salon/salon2.html
This is a virtual competition. The application, the jpeg images of work to be submitted, three letters of recommendation (one from a Master Painter under whom the student studies), an essay and image list should be emailed to ARC Board Member Iian Neil at the email address noted on the application. All material will be submitted as an attached file.
While students are asked to make every effort possible to have images either digitally photographed or scanned from high quality transparencies or slides, we understand that this may be a problem for some applicants. If this is absolutely impossible, applications may be mailed directly to ARC and images may be sent in the form of high quality slides, transparancies or even photos, and the ARC will scan them for you. Please pay strict attention to the deadline. The ARC jurors are located in a number of different countries, therefore, we need time to scan any physical applications so that the judges can examine each entry online. The Offices of Fred Ross

The ARC scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring and emerging classically trained realists. The greater the response, the greater the chances that this scholarship competition will not only be offered on an annual basis but will be expanded. This is an opportunity for discovery.
