Old Master copies and Celebrities Copy Rights

Hi, everyone.

What are the copyright issues if I copy an old master's painting, or if I paint a celebrity and someone would like to buy it? Can I sell them to the public?

Also, can I freely display those copies on my website just to promote my work, but not selling them?

Thanks,
Mai
