Nice drawing, Carlos !
I always loved sepia and white on toned paper, it makes me want to try this again...
I like the lighting, and the light on the cheek is just perfect !

Carlos, it's such a beautiful drawing! There is a lot of feeling in it, in the face and the hair. Please keep posting your drawings!
I agree with Marina that this is my absolute favorite color combination of ground and crayon/chalk/pencil. Do you buy this paper in pads? I can't find pads anywhere, so I buy the large sheets and cut them up.

Carlos:
I totally agree with previous posters. It is lovely and soft and so nicely modeled - you placed her well with good lights and shadows to play off of.

Beautiful! It's very solid with allot of emotion and beautiful in it's simplicity.

Carlos,
it is such a lovely portrait of your daughter. I like the open contures of the eye and nose, and the drawing has a nice flow.
The technique looks very inspiring, it makes me want to try.

Thank you to all for such generous responses.
I like both sanguine and sepia for quick life sketches since I think the warmth they give to a drawing is especially appropriate for the human figure. And the white touches give it the relief I always seek in a drawing. I feel like I still have quite a bit to learn about mastering the use of the white chalk--maybe I should bribe Marina to teach me
Alexandra, I don

Carlos, what a lovely way to relax. I especially like the placement of the head in the paper and the strenght of the empty spaces
