18x24" oil on ABS
I wasnt quite sure if this should go under Portraits or not.
Thank you to anyone who commented on this one when it was in the WIP section.

Kim,
it came beautifully! I like the sweetness of the colors, particularly on the background which gives your subject a timeless feeling.
Very nice subtle transitions, too.

This has a wonderfully tender quality, very subtle and gentle. What a wide range you have, Kim.
I have to also say you are a lucky woman to have such a beautiful child. Such skin, and what a knockout of a lovely girl! You have so many great paintings ahead of you with her as a model. Thank you for giving us this delightful painting.

Kim, I know I'm repeating myself, but this portrait is powerful because it speaks so quietly. When I look at it I feel as though I'm meditating. It also speaks to me on many levels. It's a portrait of your daughter, but it also goes beyond that, becoming a symbol of girlhood and innocence on the verge of maturity. But then it says even more--something I can't put into words. I'm awed by it.

Beautifully, sensitively done Kim! Such a real quality to the light on her skin, --that ear. Wonderful.

Kim,
Like Alex said, it is attention-grabbing because it is so quiet, meditative. You show such restraint with color - it is exquisite, not just the turned-away pose, but your paint handling as well. Just superb.
