HI all,

I invite you to please take a look at my new website, and let feel welcome on to comment on anything. I've been working with a a great local designer who also did a new beautiful brochure..

I have to say thanks to Joan Breckwoldt who went through it with the finest tooth comb and ferreted out (hopefully) the last of the typos and inconsistencies.

One thing - the front entry images are not supposed to be so large they or the Heirloom Portraits logo falls off the screen. And they should transition smoothly. Please let me know if this is working on your screen comfortably.

As some may notice - I decided to leave pricing off, and just say what prices start at. This seems the best choice for the next 6 months at least.

Linda, we've already talked about your site, but the one comment I forgot to mention is that the home page images aren't all visible without scrolling a bit and I'm at 1024 x 768 resolution. About 1/8 (?) is below the visible screen area. Someone at 800 x 600 would see even less of the home page images.

Thanks for the point - my screen is at 1280 x 1224 so everything fits well, same on my other computer. I just did a query and learned that your resolution setting is the most common, so I'll have the pages adjusted so that they fit at least to that size. Thanks, your feedback is very helpful.

Very nice! I would make one suggestion though, and that would be to delete the watercolor portrait of the woman with the spiky hair. I feel it is not up to the high standards you have set with the rest of your work. An artist is always judged by the weakest work in his or her portfolio. Otherwise, a very nice website.

I appreciate your honesty!

well that works for me - I was already feeling uncomfortable with having it in my portfolio as it is the only one that's "not mine" ( I painted it a few years ago from an existing commercial photo that I liked, so technically I am stealing someone's model and photography). I don't have much else though as an example for an adult woman or in watercolors, so I've always held on to it for the genres.

I know what you mean about feeling a need to have a portrait sample of every representative type (girls, boys, groups, men, women etc.) I have also never had a woman's portrait on my site, and I know I need one there. I'm waiting 'til I have a woman's portrait I'm really proud of though, before I put one on the website.

I've always heard it was better to have three great samples in a portfolio than twenty of uneven quality. My strategy has been to have 10 -to 12 of my best portraits on my site and delete the weakest one as soon as I have a new one I want to add.

I've always believed in the adage that you're portfolio is only as good as it's worst example, but it's soooooo hard to make the cuts sometimes.

So do think I should get rid of it altogether? I rather like the watercolor job on it.

Do you see others that are hurting me more than helping?

I would remove it completely.

I didn't see any others that struck me that way. All the rest seem very good.
