Thanks, Ive done about 6 self portraits in the past few months and each one brings about a completely different challenge. There are always times in each painting where it looks like I'm getting no where, but thats the best part about painting. The challenge is what i enjoy the most.
Chris- I just had one mirror in front of me, with the light to the right of me just above my head.

Paul,
Wow, very impressive! Please keep posting. The thing I like most, even more than your technical ability, is the truthful examination of your face and description of your character. I could look at it many times and see something different, which is as it should be, because a good portrait should be able to capture the complexity of a human being. I see too many arrogant, great-artist-persona-ish self portraits that don't really give much away. This is refreshingtly different and honest.
