Have you seen this easel
Greetings! I am researching easels and wondered if anyone has seen this one. It has push-buttons at the bottom and comes in another model sans push -buttons. I found this photo on the website of a maker of easels, but no link to this particular one, for some odd reason. Anyway, I'd love to know more about it before making my final choice. Wish me luck trying to attach the photo! Well, I think it's attached, but please let me know of you see the photo when I post this message. Thanks!

Jean-Marie,
The picture you have is an Artisan Easel. They have one at my local art store; the price is $2200. You can see it here: http://www.meininger.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=83
There is also a non-motorized version for around $1650 that you can see here: http://www.ospowercart.com/vcom/prod...products_id=27
Not cheap, but very pretty. The one thing I don't care for is that the paint tray is also the lower canvas holder, which means that if you have the bottom of your canvas up around chest high, so is your paint tray, and getting into the solvent canister won't be easy.
I haven't actually tried one, so don't know how easily it all works.

Thank you
David: How kind of you to help me find this easel! It is a gorgeous easel...but expensive. I didn't see any reviews, so wonder how artists like the motor or the crank and what other issues they have, if any.
But thank you for helping to narrow my search!

You're welcome; I try to keep at least a vague eye on what's out there partly because I make money on an easel, but also just because I think they're neat pieces of equipment and enjoy seeing the various approaches that makers use.
I haven't seen any reviews either, and suspect that not a lot of these are sold. Once you're in this price range you can get a Hughes model of some type, and they are great easels that appear to have a finer degree of engineering instead of the fancier finish that the Artisan has.

Jean- Marie,
You might want to check out the Hughes Easel on the Internet. I have the Hughes 4000 for about the same price as the one you are considering. I believe the Hughes to also be vastly superior in function.
Here is the link.
