I actually posted these awhile ago on a different subject, but I deleted them. I don't really care for critiques on these because I won't be adjusting them. However, you can give suggestions if you feel the need. I am posting here because they're not allowed elsewhere. By the way, these are two self-portraits. I'd post a third self-portrait (sculpture), but I'm pretty sure most of you wouldn't like it.

Your lighting and color is quite successful. But since you're not going to do further work on these, I'd suggest that in the future you pay as much attention to composition as you pay to technique.

I assume that this head is smaller than life size?

If you say you know we don't like them, why do you post them?

Hey Joseph, I am only seeing one of your pieces... I would love to see the other. What was your medium? I keep thinking "Angry Young Man" but this could be cause I am getting to be "Very Old Woman"! Is the other a little light of heart, comparatively? I'd love to see the sculpture!

Joseph,

I think the head is one fine piece of work. I like it very much and I see great potential in you.

It looks very solid, sensitive and well drawn.

Congrats.

Bill

Self portrait

Joseph, I taught illustration at RISD for three years, you would put most of the professors there to shame. Sensitive painting, like it's creator.Love it.
