Gerome made several paintings that are so well done and so detailed that I cannot imagine even copying them. The one of the gladitor in the arena is one. The faces in the crowd are all individually drawn on a curved benches and recede into the distance. The heads are 1/8 inch high and each is right, unique and readible.WOW!
