Here is my recent addition to my paintings of my grandchildren. This is Quinnlan. She is 5 years old but the reference photo was taken when she was 3.

The canvas is stretched linen and measures 24" x 32". It is oil on canvas.

Any compliments belong to my beautiful model.

John, grate job! She is quite lovely and I bet she has a wonderful personality at least I sense this in your rendition of her. I also like the way you have balanced the values over all and the girl takes center stage as it should be. A excellent painting for your portfolio.

Yes, Mischa, Quinee does have quite the personality. Just last weekend she had a dance recital where she spent the entire second half of her routine spying into the audience and waving to everybody. She knows no strangers.

Michele, I'm happy to post a close up. I hope it comes out as well. I'm on a different computer and am not sure if it will affect the color or not.

And, thank you, Chris. I'm glad you like it. It seems to be a bit more of a growth process as I am trying to incoporate more of a natural feel than a photographic feel which is difficult for a resource photo reference. I'm trying to rely on what I learn in life painting sessions.
