thumbs up Advantages of a Web Site

A few years ago when I decided that I wanted to be a portrait painter, I was told that I needed a rep. I sent my portfolio to every rep. on the list and they all declined to represent me. Many said that my work was too classical/old fashioned and that there was no market for my style. Then I had the good fortune to meet Cynthia Daniel and arranged to have my portfolio included in her web site.

In the three years that I have had my 24/7 online portfolio available, I have gotten many letters, calls and commissions because of it. Because of the potential large audience on the 'net, my portfolio is available to that narrow market that likes my painting style. I find that I do not really need a rep. because I now have a large backlog of portrait commissions. My thanks to Cynthia Daniel, founder of www.portraitartist.com

Fascinating!!

Tell me what does it take to get your work on Her site?

Just curious, as I know I wish to have my work on the site.

Mark,

Go to http://portraitartist.com/joining.htm to see the basic criteria for joining. I hope to be on here someday too. But as a beginner, I am working on putting a portfolio together. I think this is a great site and I have learned SO much here!

Thank you! It looks like I need to build my portfolio up then simply submit it to them.

Looking forward to it!

Thanx again,
Mark
