The King is Praying




Hi,

Here is my very new finished oil-painting from my "King-series ", "The KIng is praying".

Oil on canvas 120 cm x 160 cm.

Wow, Anton,

What a beautifully painted and haunting (in a good way!) piece. If I lived to be 200 I would never be able to handle painting fabric as beautifully as you have here. I love the reflected color.

I really like this "King" series, Anton. They are so beautifully painted, this one in particular. I agree with Chris 100% on the fabric handling. But what impresses me most is the story this whole series is telling. They are a feast for the brain!

Beautiful, Anton! I would love to see some closeups of the hands in prayer and also some closeups of how you have worked fabric designs into your fabric folds.

Do you first paint an underpainting on your paintings?
