Portrait of Ally

This is now finished - finally! I got the order two summers ago which shows how hard it is for me to get to my easel these days. I debated about putting more detail in the background but decided to leave it as is.

Any comments are welcome.

Thanks.

Virginia,
I love your style. This is a beautiful piece. "Two summers ago" Wow. I hope your getting back into it. I'd like to see more.
Congratulations,
Jerome

This is fresh and lovely. What size it is? And what medium? It looks like watercolor to me.

This is beautiful. I really like the lighting effects. Do you have a reference photo you can post?

Thank you very much for your comments! This is a 28 x 22" canvas done with water mixable oils. The background was done as the undercoat for the trees, river etc. so I kept it loose and watery. Then I decided to leave it as is.

Richard, if you go to 'works in progress' you can see a reference photo there. If I get more time later, I'll post it here.

Thanks again for your comments.
