Allan,
So fresh and loose! lovely surface quality, congratulations.
Allan, this is really wonderful. Is it just me, or do you also feel that your work has gotten much more sophisticated in the past few months? To me, you seem to have turned some kind of corner in your artwork. Congratulations on this fine painting!
Allan,
I appreciate your stories of Egon and his wife and your drawing trips. This is what attracts me to portraiture in the first place. Every portrait is an impression of a human being who has a life, a soul, a personality. Endless subjects of interest. When I draw a portrait, especially from an old photograph I feel like I am getting to know the person, just through studying their features, their eyes, their expression. That is what is so good about your paintings. They all seem to tell a good story!!
I went back to your post of Egon to look at the drawing above his head and had a pleasant moment, just thinking about your story!

Patricia,
The drawing on the painting is at its actual place on the wall.
Another day I visited the family and told them about this portrait project and told them how well it was received on this forum. They were very happy for me and send there regards to all.
Egon is a former Bricklayer and still an active draughtsman, doing landscapes and building motives.
To do just to his drawing I will ad the original.
