Let's say you have a very good relationship with Santa...

You know the guy in the red suit, then let's say you need a new easel and Santa being Santa, doesn't know hoot about easels, which is pretty much the same place you are in.

So I start out...hopefully you know the tune...

"Santa baby, a trip to Atlanta is nice, that's right - cause all the information from the big MM would settle in and get bigger roots - this time....then, hey Santa baby how about an easel that's big ________________________________________ I liked the mixing table that is on Dick Blicks, but question Santa love, if it would be as nice as the easel above. Santa baby, hurry down the chimney tonight"

Could someone please fill in the blanks for me in the easel section?

The first consideration should be, is the size of the biggest painting you think you are going to make and then consider the size of Santas pockets.

Santa got me an easel that, though it might been an easier fit down the chimney, was TOO small and had to be upgraded.

Beth, a Sorg easel review is posted here and Bill Whitaker posted a review of Michael Georges' Bingham-Barclay easel here . Look around this topic for other reviews. If Santa REALLY likes you, see if you can get him to read Peggy Baumgaertner's Hughes Easel review.

My Sorg easel arrived last week and still sits in a huge box on my floor. If Santa really liked me he'd help me put it together.

Sorry Cindy, but Santa want's some details, like what parts make it better, IE: cranks etc.

I talked with the fella that did Michael's easel Linda, and they have caught on, Michael and Bill stole theres... BAD boys.

Sharon I am working on the biggest yet, but it's small in comparison to you guys, it's 29 x 34 and on my little Pastel easel I am going crazy - especially since I have to go around the back, loosen one thing to raise another in the front then around to the back to tighten.

See we have become such a nanoo second people.

I have always believed in being a really GOOD girl, but seeing as so many BAD girls are grabbing a lot of goodies these days, I may have to change my orientation.

I have the Deluxe Abiqiu. It takes very large paintings. I would LOVE the Hughes, but Santa said I have to find my own sleigh for that one.

Get the one that is the easiest to manipulate, and I don't mean your Santa. The Abiqui really can hold heavy biggies but what a monster to maneuver. It was the biggest I knew about at the time. SIGH!

And remember, you may want to do bigger paintings in the future.

I think that Santa should give the Hughes Easel to this MM guy. The Hughes Easel is the one that makes maneuvering the painting effortless.

Sheesh. Isn't it enough that you just want it? How bout the fact that it's an amazing price for what it is? The cheapest Hughes is $1500, and the Sorg is $550.
