Looking good!

Cynthia -

Thanks for all your hard work over the past few days re: getting the site going again with the new software - I'm sure it was a raw source of angst. I know I'm not alone in saying how appreciative we all are for this forum and your diligence.

I'm just hoping everything is up to speed on your end. Everything looks great from where I'm sitting, and I wish you the very best for a "bug-free" forum from here on in.

Best

Rob Sullivan

I second that note of appreciation. This changeover was much more fraught with agony than Cynthia ever expected, but now that it's back up and running hopefully it'll be better than ever. Thank you so much, Cynthia, for going above and beyond the call of duty. Have a glass of virtual champagne on me!

Leslie

I like the new look! Isn't it great with the quick reply and preview pages. The forum jump is a great idea! Well done!

star Great Job!

Hi Cynthia!
I wanted to also thank you for everything you do for the forum. The site looks better than ever and runs more efficiently, too. You might not see me on as much, but I still try to participate when I can. I want to extend an offer to you: If you need help with anything, web related, graphic design related as well, whatever...let me know. I would love to help in any way I can! I will be expecting twins in July, though, and my life as I know it will be over! lol But seriously, you have done an incredible job here, so...BRAVO!!! Thank you!

I'm chugging away polishing things up, but thought I'd take a minor break and say THANK YOU to all of you. Yes, Leslie, it was very fraught and some virtual champagne would be in order. I was stressed to the max when the pages disappeared completely. It was hard to think about or do anything else and the time dragged because I was dependent on the help of others who were only available thru email and I had to wait between responses.

Don't anyone think I coded all this myself. It's a purchased package that normally looks like this for anyone who hasn't seen it: www.vbulletin.com/forum

But, configuring all the options and finding where everything is can be challenging. I did hire someone to do the upgrade. It was too out of my techical knowledge. Ultimately, I'm sure I could have learned to do it, but the time factor just didn't allow it. Yes, I like a lot of the new features.

Jennifer, I've seen some of your web design and I'm impressed. I will certainly keep your offer in mind But twins! Goodness, your life will change. I'll be sure to get any requests in before delivery. Wonder what the chances are that both will nap at the same time.

I'm just a little confused.

While Cynthia was making changes to her system, I was making changes to mine. In the last few days, I switched from Windows to Linux. After the switch, I came here, and everything seems to work differently. But things seem different in wetcanvas too, so I'm not sure if it's you, or me who's changed.

I see new links and the formerly round buttons are now square. I could log in using a Windows machine to find out for certain, I guess.

Regardless, I'm glad were up and running again.

Dang, Cynthia. You were just talking about all the troubles of running a free site, then this happens.

I ran into a lot of problems. About 7/8 of my time the last week has been getting things back up to snuff. Things are different because I upgraded to the new version. Perhpas WetCanvas upgraded at the same time.

Wow

Cynthia,

While this has been down the past few days, I could only imagine the hours you were toiling, your sleepless nights and then having to wake up to attack it all over again. I'm sure you still won't sleep soundly for days, worrying that all is stable and working out the bugs.

I confess that I would actually enjoy paying a small entrance fee be a part of this forum if for nothing more than if you go through such efforts again I don't have to feel guilty.

It was pretty intense, for sure.

You may yet get your chance.
