Julianne, here'a detail, I piddled with the background after I "got" the head. I'm a big N. Fechin fan. This was done with knife and brush back and forth. Some wet into wet-some dry over the top.

Well, honestly, I just did the head from life. The background, I piddled with off and on later, careful not to ruin what I had got from the live model.
