Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil

34 x 39.5" oil

Ok, I finished this. I changed some original plans with it - like leaving the necklaces off...I didnt like the way they were hanging. There are parts that are less detailed than I originally planned, but I am happy with them...I think.

I hadn't touched this on over 6 months. I couldn't seem to make myself get back to it. I posted somewhere a long whiny thing about being afraid to touch it again and no one responded. I wasnt getting any sympathy! So, seeing that I decided I was being foolish and needed to just fiinish it.

I can't seem to get a correct photo of it - I still need a tripod for one thing. I'm going to have this one photographed by a professional, but thought I'd share it here in the meantime.

So - the contrast is off, the color is off and it looks a little blurry as well. Picture it as perfect.

I'm including this as a reference for the color and contrast. It was an in-progress shot before it was finished...but the photo is more accurate in color.

Kim,
This is wonderful. Such a fun piece and so well executed. Lots of good stuff in it, but I enjoy studying this last ref pic. I really like the hands and you have captured her elbow to the hand at her mouth so well. It must have been a challenge to get that arm to look like it is receding from elbow to hand and then the hand itself is great.

Would love to see this in person! Please don't tell me you are already moved and painting in your new place?! That was fast...
Pat

Thanks Pat.

Yes, I am all moved and painting. I think that's why I cant get a decent photo - the lighting is all different and Im going to have to figure it out. I'll get better photos up later. I did just find a professional who agreed to the copyright issue, so it shouldnt be too long before I can get it on my website....and try and sell this puppy. They have been mocking me long enough!

Very original and well executed. It will sell fast, I bet!

Get some top quality photos of it before it sells, though. (Very high res digitals or even better, 4x5 transparencies.) -- I bet you could make a profitable limited edition series of prints with this one!

Thanks ladies!

Now that you mention 'giving birth' - I think this thing was on the easel about 9 months (or more). I've never taken that long before.

Michele, from your mouth to art buyers ears. Im hoping to get into a very very well-established gallery with this one. I've been in competitions at this gallery, but Im hoping for full-time representation. My painting sold this year during their Salon show...so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Well actually, Im saying to myself "they'd have to be crazy not to take me." (nothing like pumping yourself up). I sent them slides and all info they wanted, but if I get a face-to-face meeting I think I'll bring this one since I didnt have it done to send a slide. If I dont hear from them, I'll take the painting to them to frame and maybe catch someone's eye. If they take me on, I really want to discuss prices with them. Mine are still way too low and I think being represented by a bigger gallery maybe can give me the crediability to get into a better range.
