Portrait of Anne

It has been a while since I posted a portrait, but here is one I just finished of a girl. I painted her before as a commission. I painted this portrait because I was very intrigued by the light filtering though the trees. The portrait is painted with oil on canvas. The canvas is 30 x 55 inches.

Bianca, The brushstrokes and the light are so striking! I love the great chunky shapes of paint describing the girl's hair and the foliage. The expression and face in profile add to the unusual quality of this work. It shimmers with light and suspended motion!

Thanks Alexandra! I must say it is a difficult painting to photograph because of the colors and the layering which you just don't see on a picture this size. But it gives a nice impression of the atmosphere I was going for.
