My first Torrit Gray entry.

I have combed the hills of Scottsdale AZ looking for the infamous Torrit Gray, so I swung by the Scottsdale Artist School and caught Chris Saper on the way out of her class. Apparently Gamblin ran very short on supply this year and she was kind enough to stick a glob into a pill bottle (does this make her a PAINT PUSHER!?) for me.

It is dark dark dark. I will say it has a pretty nice sort of oily greasy blackness that one might say shimmers a bit. Because of that, I did the whole piece in only Torrit and white. No black needed.

8x16 on Pintura Canvas board.

After the competition, I may try a glaze. The dark values are a deliberate change from my regular style. I would say 80% is the product. BUT I have been told by friends this is presenting online as very brown. If it is, I may literally grayscale it for the proper effect.
**** I have uploaded the neutral grayscale image. It actually appears to have no bias. So that brown is now gone***

It's coming across on my monitor as a gray-brown, Debra. Nice work!
