Amber (non-standard portrait)

This is my second submission to this forum. This is not the typical type of portrait. Wanted to do something different.

This was done from a dual exposure of the same model. It is in storage, at the moment. (Just recently moved from California to Florida). I will try to dig it up and get a scan, but I won't promise anything.

Florida?

Hey Peter,

Where in Florida did you move? I live in Jacksonville (NE). There are very few portrait artists in this area.

Miami. I like it so far. Listed as one of the two best locations in the country for Art Fairs. Hope the Portraiture market is healthy, but have nor pursued it extensively so far. (Too busy getting settled).

I think your style will be well suited to the Florida market!!!

I would like to see a few more concessions to classic painting regardless of composition. Primarily, deciding a primary light source and make one figure a different value accordingly.

Thanks for the comments.

Why would it be suited to this market? Seems as though there is an equal interest in the new and contemporary styles as there is for the classical and conservative. From my experience, fine art portraiture does not appeal much to those with very contemporary tastes. There are always exceptions to the rule, of course. This was just an experiment and I don't expect to pursue this technique exclusively.

BTW, the light source was the setting sun, directly behind me, just off my right shoulder.
