I haven't done a drawing in a long time. I sketch my granddaughter all the time, but this is from one of my photos I took as she was sitting under a skylight in a room of windows. I just love the light on her face, and her expression.
Thanks for looking...

Patty , your granddaughter is super cute and it is interesting how you have captured a rather intense look of her. Very nice!

Sweet portrait Patty! They don't always have to be smiling, do they? Your granddaughter is a very pretty girl.

Wow, Patty! Beautifully beautifully done. Would you mind posting a closeup so we can look at the lines you use?

Enzie - she is intense and can speak volumes with her expressions which what I tried to capture in the drawing. I can't wait to paint her.
Thanks Christy, Mary, Alexandra, David and Julie. She will definately be drawn and painted many times over her life, if I have anything to say! I will try to post a close-up. My technique was very fine washes of graphite using 2H then 2B, some charcoal for the darkest darks, and in the end I go over it all with a fine 2H wash. Her face is so soft I wanted to try to capture that and still get the range of values.

I love your technique, Patty. And that little tooth on the lip is just precious!

Thanks, Julie, for noticing! You know how one slight mark can change the look totally. I am happy with the teeth and mouth...
