Tom from Larry Bovits workshop




Larry Bovits from USA is currently doing a series of workshops in Austrslia and New Zealand , I was lucky enough to get a place onthe workshop in Melbourne.
This is Tom, a great model..


Painted in 3 x 2 hour session, pastel on full sheet mi teintes paper.

Bruce,

I am not familiar with Larry Bovit's work, but I noticed the high chroma palette. Is this what he teaches or is this how you chose to paint the model?

I ask because I find the color choice unusual and interesting. Then again, it might just be how my monitor shows it.

Hi Enzie
The colour choice was mine.. The light was very warm and bright. and I had a limited palette of Nupastel (hard) . If I painted Tom in oil I would tone down the intensity somewhat.. It was actually quite a warm day as well so he had a bit of a glow on..
