Hi Richard,
Welcome to your first portrait posting. It's about time!
Richard, this is a beautiful and arresting image, very complete and satisfying to see. Your friends must be thrilled with the results.
I love the setting, and passionate chromatic composition. Kudos!
Now let's see some more of your works....

Richard,
Yes, your pictures are much too good to hide away.

Garth,
Being a great admirer of your incredible work, makes your comments that much more appreciated. I'm not surprised that you picked up on my love for chroma. If I could, I would use saturated colors right out of the tube. Sometimes it works as in this case. However, all too frequently it becomes a fault that I have to guard against. Thanks again for making my day begin with a happy surprise.
Allan,
I will try to be a better poster in the future. Thanks for the compliment.

Congratulations Richard! You've captured the early morning feel and her innocent pre-occupation so well. (Now, what did she get on her shirt?)
P.S. Oh wait. Just went back and saw the title. . . it's that her shirt is too wet and she doesn't want it up against her!

Terri,
She just got out of the water and was dripping wet. She was pulling the shirt away from her because she didn't like the feel. If you look at the area around her feet I tried to indicate the rest of the story with some puddles of water.

Yes Richard, I saw that after my original post. (The title helps too!) You've told the story well-- I just wasn't as observant as could have been! Very nice work! (and in acrylic too)

This is just adorable Richard! I remember seeing a snap shot of this and you have reallypulled it all together since I saw that. I think the flooring is especially well done.
Nice to have you post! (finally)

Terri,
Thanks. I'm glad the story in the painting "reads" to others . Acrylic has been my medium of choice for more than 20 years. Kim has been trying to get me into oils. i have ordered Daniel Greene's oil colors at the screaming deal price they had in December. I studied under Daniel and have faith in his critical judgment here. Will let you know how they work out.
Kim,
That red wood decking was a killer. I had a shot of it after an early morning rain and loved the look and feel of the scene. However, it took eight tries and several bad words before I got that slightly wet after rain look. Glad you liked the way it turned out.

Richard, I'm delighted to see you post one of your paintings! You've contributed so much to the Forum and it's nice to see your work at last.
