Visitor traffic?

I was curious about the surge in visitor traffic we had to the forum from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning, hitting a new record for number of visitors online. Was there some publicity about the site that brought them in, that anyone is aware of? Or was it some Internet-related artifact?

Chuck, I don't know of anything that might have caused a spike in traffic, but I let Cynthia know about your question. I think she may still be out of town so it may be a while before we find out.

I noticed it, too, Chuck. Figured it was the television diaspora from political convention ennui, all left too early to tune in to Prairie Home Companion, had to go somewhere.

There's a piece in the latest art mag on Classical Realism, and others elsewhere on portraiture, though I don't recall that SOG was mentioned there.

Perhaps we're just catching up with ourselves, or we're in the dog days of summer.

P.S. For the afflicted, Prairie Home Companion is always available at www.mpr.org, current and archived. Not that there's anything wrong with all portraiture all the time.

Chuck,

I'm not aware of anything.
